Welcoming our Community

Prayer of Gratitude Barb McRae

CONNIE.  No person stands alone.  Barb & Charles were very aware as they came to this day, how many people have been a part of their lives.  They ask that we pray for all of you who have helped them along their way.

Mother and Father God,
thank you for all the people and creatures
you have placed in our lives to make our existence so rich.
Without family and friends to belong to,
we would not be here today.

We thank you especially for
those who make us laugh and who let us cry,
those who share their music with us,
those who have fed us with their affection,
those who have told us no so that we might grow,
those who take us in when we need to not be alone
and those who allow us our separateness and solitude.

We thank you for all those who are gathered here today
and for those whose good wishes come from far away.
Bless this community, Immanent God,
with always enough to share.
Amen.

Please join in the chorus of the song Give Yourself to Love:

Community Song
Give Yourself to Love Kate Wolf
Kathy Gravlin & Debbie Jackson-guitar

Kind friends all gathered round, there's something I would say
that what brings us here together, has blessed us all this day
Love has made a circle that holds us all inside
Where strangers are as family, and loneliness can't hide.

Chorus:
You must give yourself to Love, if Love is what you're after
Open up your hearts to the tears and laughter.
Give yourself to Love, give yourself to Love.

I've walked these mountains in the rain, I've learned to love the wind
I've been up before the sunrise, to watch the day begin
I always knew I'd find you though I never did know how
But like sunshine on a cloudy day, you stand before me now

Love is born in fire, it's planted like a seed.
Love can't give you everything, but it gives you what you need
Love comes when you are ready, Love comes when you're afraid
It will be your greatest teacher, the best friend you have made.
